Jal Binayak Temple

Jal Binayak is a formerly grand temple located on the bank of the Bagmati River at Chobhar Gorge in southern Kirtipur.

The temple is dedicated to Ganesh. Legend has it that after Manjushree carved out Chobhar Gorge to drain the Kathmandu Lake, he provided shelter here to Ganesh.

The original temple was built in the 16th or 17th century.
