Nepali New Year
Join hundreds of Nepalis as they start the Nepali New Year off with a hike up Champa Devi Hill.
Devotees pay tribute to the goddess Champa Devi and believe that by hiking up the mountain, their wishes will come true.
The Nepali New Year is celebrated on the 1st day of the Nepali month Baishakh, which usually falls around mid-April.
The Nepali calendar (called Nepal sambat) is about 56 years and 8 months ahead of the Gregorian calendar.
So in April 2020, it will be the year 2077.
